Looking at the schedule/playoffs again, I checked the current setup and we have a 21-week regular season, with the playoffs running from September 4th to the 24th. If we were to change it to an 18-week regular season, it would start on August 14th and end on September 3rd. Does everyone want this?

Personally, I watch baseball all season long and if I'm going to lose interest, it's at the end of the season, not at the first of it. I don't want to wait until August to start fantasy baseball or am I completely misunderstanding something.

The dates shown are for the playoffs. It would start at the beginning as usual but the proposal is for the regular season being 3 weeks shorter (18 weeks instead of 21 so everyone just plays each other twice) and then the playoffs would start three weeks earlier than usual, finishing on September 3rd.

To be honest, I am fine either way. I have no issues with the long season but that's just me.

Thanks for all the responses. Didn't get everyone yet but the 7 or 8 who responded are all ok with the shorter season.

Sorry guys I've been off work a bunch lately which means I'm barely on here.

I think the draft took just under 2 weeks last year. March 21 to April 1.

MLB season starts March 30th. If we want to finish 7 days before that means we are done March 23rd, 2 weeks to draft would be March 9th start day.

I think if we start around the 9th, we'll do well. I am doing a boy weekend cottage trip March 17-19 so I know you guys would want me drafting in my future state, but I'll likely hold off lol. Obvi give a list out but ya.

Should I send out a poll on the below? Or just roll and implement it...

Happy with 26 rounds and adding a P slot. IP limit then from 32-35/week (pretty sure it was 32 last year).

26 picks, extra P slot, 34IP/week. Why 34? Because 34 is a fun number and it's cool.

I'm happy with starting on the 9th - it's a Thursday so gives us a head start before the weekend that could slow down a bit.

I'm good with the proposed tweaks, whether or not you send a poll. I don't see too much impact to make the changes other than an extra round will make the draft a bit longer. But that's fine since the proposed date gives us a buffer.
