    Default Lawson Crouse BT

Lawson Crouse is now sitting at 391 GP and is poised to hit his 400 GP breakout threshold after the all-star break.

Anyone expecting him to take a big step between now and next season, or should I temper my expectations?

I’ve acquired him in a 1-on-1 trade for Lekhonen in early November as I saw the BT coming and have always been high on him, but I guess I underestimated Lehkonen who has produced more since then.

If there is no significant progression before the end of the season, it will be a tough call to see where he stands in terms of protecting him ahead of players like O’Reilly, Danault, Pavelski or Skjei…

depends what your expectations are...i think he can be consistent 25 / 25 guys and very useful in multiact leagues...but i personally dont expect more than that

Crouse is building on his slightly over .5 pts/gm pace he put up last year, currently with 28 pts in 45 games. That's a nice indicator. However, I also believe, as do the others, that expectations need to be managed here. I don't think we are talking the next elite multi cat stud. However, if he can consistently hit somewhere in the 50 - 60 pt range for the next several years you have a very nice fantasy asset for banger leagues. Let's call it 55 pts give or take a few. He's knocking on the door this year for sure but I don't think a massive improvement beyond his BT is in the cards. If, moving forward, he can improve a bit on his numbers and deliver that consistently, that's probably as good as it gets IMO.
