possibly, i didnt check but point here was that he was pulled from the All Star AHL game last minute...which is why many thought move was imminent and they wanted to avoid potential injury...all star game had nothing to do with paper moves...

Matthews, Marner and Chychrun have been following each other for a while, dating back to 2021. He played with Bunting in Arizona, so he likely followed him prior to Bunting going to Toronto.
I'm assuming Matthews and Chychrun hung out in Arizona in the offseason and Marner was there.

Oh yeah for sure there are always reasons for this type of stuff, and rarely does it correlate to a NHL trade. But people went nuts anyway due to the close timing of removing the Coyotes logo from his page.

There's so many "rumors" on where he's going. I've read recently that Boston is closing in on him and the Leafs are right there too. Of course, the Oilers are deep in talks. LOL!

Marc Methot has publicly advocated for the Sens to trade for him - he knows him personally and has said Chychrun would love that (not a surprise since he has a family home near there).

Yeah Chychrun to the Sens was one of the first rumored destinations once it became known that Chychrun wanted out, and remains among the most ideal landing spots - his family is nearby, he’s be a terrific complement to Chabot and spell him crucial minutes, while Sanderson gets up to speed, and they gave ample assets (prospects and picks) to get it done. Chabot/Sanderson/Chychrun would be a formidable trio for next 10 years.

I think it would be a quick jerk reaction for the senators to acquire Chychrun before the summer. I understand the idea that if they want him, you better do it before someone else. But I also don't think the extra payment for this yr is worth it for the Senators.
Ottawa is not making it this yr, and if they wait till the summer, they have a definite number on their draft pick which would make a trade more clear.
If I'm not using Chychrun in the playoffs this yr, I'm not touching him.
