I would prefer to keep the more sure thing here in Boldy, even though he does have a big contract kicking in soon. Byram's injury history also really scares me on top of that.
My league has salary cap on. Boldy is getting a raise to 7m so I am hesitant. Would you still move Boldy for Byram?
I trade: Matthew Boldy (LW,RW)
Receive: Bowen Byram (D)
He also said he would take Caufield but I think he will be the better player of the three. My team is below if you wanna see what I am working with.

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
I am sure he would take Caufield.
I like Byram and I believe he can be a solid dman. But these injuries are worrisome. So that's a no for me. Because then you are adding another injury prone dman to your team (Letang, Perunovich).
You looking to clear some cap room. Find a taker for Trocheck. His cap hit is $5.625 until end of 28/29 season.

Dmen: Makar, D Toews, Dobson, Sergachev, S Jones, Graves, Carlo, Gudas, Byram, Girard, Thrun
Goalies: Vanecek, Francouz, Samsonov
In addition to Byram's injury woes is the fact that he is still buried behind Makar and Toews and unless he is traded, Girard is competing for playing time as well. Boldy, despite the contract, or because of it, has already arrived and is far more established to be fantasy relevant in the next 2 to 3 years IMO. This is a pass for me.

earlier in the year i traded Cooley and Rosen for Drysdale and Byram....thats kind of deal i would make as none of these guys have proven anything and for me it was a fact that i needed young D or 2 to go with my many young studs up front in the rebuild league....but i agree with EB that in this case i would stick with the guy that already has arrived for good.

i dont think i would worry much about Toews or Girard ..obviously he will never surpass Makar in offensive situations but as 21 he averaged almost 21 minutes in first 10 games before injury and scored 5 points...thats pretty good and i would think he will only build on that..i think in perfect world they would like Toews to play less and i think Byram will be given those few extra minutes once he proves he can actually stay on the ice....to me injuries are the only issue....very bid one but the only one.

I am a huge fan of Byram but you would be paying full price for a guy who's missed 80+ games over the past season and a half with multiple injuries. That's not good asset management.
Even with that contract, I’d still keep Boldy.
Call me old one more time.

Keep Boldy. If Byram was healthy I would make that deal but he hasn't come close to playing a full season. You shouldn't be paying full price for that.

Thanks for the all the replies. I like Byram a lot but you're all right with the injuries being a concern. I'll just hold on this one.

Until I see Byram able to handle the rigors of the NHL without constantly getting injured, I am not touching him at all.
