Vasi or Ullmark?

I know a similar thread just went up recently but I want to add a couple modifiers. I feel Vasi would be the choice here and because of that I went for it but this is in a keeper context as well. Ullmark would be $1 to keep going forward for the next couple seasons vs Vasi who would be $80. I have Jarry and Vancek who would be $2 and $1 respectively and I can only keep 1 goalie anyway so it would be one of them. Would you have still dealt Ullmark for Vasi in this scenario?

In a keeper setting, I like Vasi over Ullmark. Swagman is the future in Boston and he’s chipped away at enough of Ullmark’s starts that it’s closer to a 1A/1B in Boston. But in Tampa, Vasi is the undisputed #1. Even at $1, I’m not sure I’m keeping Ullmark next season since he’s not the clear cut starter. $80 is a hefty keeper price, but you’ve now got one of the best goalies in the world. I don’t mind the deal. I’m not sure you gained a ton this season, or in the future. But you did lock up a lot more starts.

Given you have Vanacek and Jarry, who only cost $1-$2 and you can’t keep them both, Id be looking to trade one of them to strengthen your roster at another position.

I think it's a reasonable deal, as long as you make sure you keep one of the 2 value contracts as your keeper. In formats like this, you don't want to keep market price players.

The exact deal was Ullmark/Buchnevich for Vasi/Burakovsky. Being that I'm a Devils fan and he's $1 I'm going to keep Vanecek. I have a tentative deal in place where I would deal Jarry/Bratt/Rakell for Matthews/Nichushkin and then just run with Vasi/Vitek for the remainder of the season.

Surplus Jarry with Bratt/Rakell for Matthews/ Nichushkin
Ending up with Vasi/Vanecek goalie tandem. Matthews. Depth in Nichushkin/Burakovsky.
