Tkachuks for McDavid?! Will REP

I've had the trade bug recently and upgraded a few positions but in doing so have lost some depth.

A buddy in the league just offered me the Tkachuk brothers for McDavid? He hinted at potentially wanting to negotiate a defense swap as well since I have 4 strong d-men.
I love McDavid but the shots/hits/points of the Tkachuk brothers makes this insanely tempting, if it comes down to him trying to add someone like Dahlin in then that changes things for sure.

EDIT: Officially offered me the Tkachuk Brothers straight up for McDavid.

It's for the league in my signature and I am currently tied for 2nd with the team offering me the trade.

As always appreciate any input/opinions and will rep when and where possible.

Hmm wow that's tough. I don't hate it in a one year league. I see there is positional requirements correct? You have everyone just labelled as forwards right now. The problem is your centers would be kind of weak without McDavid. It would be Matthews and then who? Who would you drop in this case if you got back the brothers?

Yes it's 2C, 2LW, 2RW, 4D. I have McDavid, Matthews, and Norris as pure C's. Then Benn and Rodrigues with C eligibility. Obviously finding a replacement C for McDavid is impossible but there are solid streamable C's like Backlund, Couture, Krejci, and Hayes available as FA's. My drop would be Mangiapane or Teravainen.

That's where my heads at currently. The brothers for McDavid is tempting but if he wants to upgrade his defense in the trade then its a no go.

I’d still pass on this. Getting Kane back is like a free Tkachuk brother. The Offensive production provided by McDavid can’t be replaced - you’ll be spreading that out over 2-3 guys which is inefficient. Unless you’re in roto and leading the league in the scoring cats by A LOT.

Yes he is impossible to replace and the brothers production is great and nice to have guys that hit all the categories you are right that its 2 spots to produce versus one.
He wanted to add my Morrisey for his Weegar, told him no chance. Now saying Burns lol. Instant no. The brothers for McD straight up was tempting but still a toss up.

Officially offered the brothers straight up for McDavid. It is tempting and still unsure as it would be nice to add the additional shots/PIMs/hits but if I look at the stats and assuming my drop is Mangiapane (with Patches new injury Turbo is a hold if he goes back to the top line) then attempting to forecast the rest of the season I don't really see as much of a gain in any category that would make the deal a benefit to my team if I look at it as Mangiapane/McDavid versus Brady/Matt.

Any other opinions out there? lol

These are one of those unpopular moves that people critisize because all they see is McDavid but might actually win you the pool.

HAHA Bubba appreciate the laugh and thats kind of how I see it. Feels weird to trade the best player in the world but hey some depth is good to and they are currently 4th and 9th in the league.

It's definitely not a popular move but two high-end multi-cat guys could really help. Just a hard decision as McJesus does so much on his own.

That's a good point. Trade or not would be interesting to see who would have won the trade ROS: The Bros or McDavid and the streamer.
