Konecny for Fleury

Hello fellow Dobber's,

I offered this trade yesterday and it was accepted today after the hatty (not angry he didn't accept it before the game lol). Just curious as to others opinions on whether or not it was a good move for my team or if I should look to package Fleury (Copley or VV) with another skater to upgrade further? If you were to look at upgrading who would your targets be and who off my roster might you look to package with Fleury or another goalie of mine?

Oettinger not on the block, on 3rd place team and GM is actively seeking a #2 goalie.
Sorokin and Varlamov are on the top team and not available.
Vasi and Thompson are on the same team and might be hard to acquire either.
Helly and Saros are on the same team as well but he is taking trade offers but would have to be aggressive. I know before Knight got moved to IR he was close to accepting Knight/M.Tkachuk/PLD for EP40/Helly.

Its a 14 team league where we have 7 skater stats and 4 goalie stats (more info in signature) so goalies are a hot commodity and aren't cheap to acquire. Drafted Soupy and Demko (ouch) but was lucky enough to get Copley and Vanecek as FA's. I have been streaming a 3rd goalie when needed, unsuccessfully. I am currently 2nd in the league and my year to date goalie W-L-T stats are 9-33-10, needless to say room for improvement.

As always appreciate any and all input/opinions.

Is there a way you can trade either Vanecek or Copley ( I don't have a preference) for a fwd/D that fills the category you need MOST.

and then pick up Gustavsson to have the minnesota handcuff?

Gus is owned or I would have snagged him before even looking to trade. There aren't many goalies on the wire to even stream. Looking at the 3-headed monster in Buffalo (someone dropped 6K when they announced he was going to the A), Lindgren, Lankinen, Forsberg, Vladar, Vejmelka, Halak, Elliot, Blackwood, Habs tendies, and the Columbus boys. So for the most parts streams are dicey and trading for goalies is a challenge.

Upgrading on Fleury isn't as hard as you might think. Outside of wins, he's been slightly below average this year. I'd aim to sell him as a name goalie for a goalie who is playing better, but is perceived as lesser. I'd aim to trae him to whomever owns Gustavvsson for whatever other starter he has that's solid.

That's a slick idea! The Gus owner actually owns 4 goalies: Talbot, Gustavsson, Kochetkov, and Swayman.

haha no need to be sorry. I know it was an overpay but I am top 3 in all skater cats, leading 4 or 5 of the 7, and needed something on the back end. Konecny looks amazing but also hard to imagine him keeping up this pace shooting at 21%. Just need some quality starts from Flower and I'll be happy.

It's not a big money league at all and I think I just enjoy the excitement of trading but packaged up Copley with Meier and Skinner to get back Helly, E. Kane, and Mangiapane. Tough week saying goodbye to 3 of my top forwards (especially Meier as I am a big fan) but Kane when healthy should contribute similar numbers and Helly is a real nice upgrade.
