The GOAT just retired and there is this nonsensical talk of Mahomes being the GOAT or is he or why not. He's a great QB but he's got a long way to go before that convo turns green. But at least he's not crowning himself the GOAT like LeBron is. A GOAT does not crown him/herself a GOAT. That is done by your peers. One generation totally dismissing the previous ones.

Mahomes has a very legit chance at being the GOAT. However, you already saw some hiccups in their system this yr. And Kelce isn't getting younger.

Mahomes has a ton of runway left in his career, and his contract is slowly becoming a bargain ($45m/yr), but they need to start thinking about investing in the offense. Not this yr, but it's coming.

The next part in the debate is Andy Reid. When he retires, how much does that effect Mahomes. As for a legit GOAT debate...all you can do is compare Brady and Mahomes age 27, but you can't say Mahomes is the GOAT. It's the same debate we had with LeBron 10yrs ago though. "If he can stay healthy", "If he continues at his pace", "If he wins a couple more".

I think losing Bieniemy will potentially be more detrimental than losing Reid for Mahomes.

I think losing the head coach is worse than losing the OC. However, losing Bieniemy would still be a hurdle they'd need to recover from. But at least you have an enticing position available lol. Who wouldn't want to be the HC or OC for Mahomes.

The talking heads keep saying that everything offensive runs through Reid and Bienemy is just a voice of many. If this is true, then it might explain why some NFL teams he's interviewed with aren't quite comfortable giving him the HC reins. And even he has been relegated in trying out for some other teams OC job just to get out from under Reid's "control".
