Default Kyle Connor or Quinn Hughes?

    Hi,

14 teams dynasty pool, 14 players, 6F, 3D, 2G, 3 backups of any position. Point only.

Forwards and Defensemen, 1 point for goal or assit
    Goalies, W=2 pts, OTL=1 pt, SO=3 pts

Who do you prefer in your team?

    Kyle Connor or Quinn Hughes?

Does Connor is a good offer to get Q.Hughes? Too much paid? Not enough paid?

I also have Patrick Laine and Matt Boldy but I’m pretty sure it will not be enough for Q.Hughes.

    What do you think?

    Advices would be appreciate.

    Thanks!

I'd say Hughes is actually pretty close to Connor value, but I think you can def get more than Hughes.

I think Kyle Connor is a PPG forward, and that would equal to a 60-65pt dman. So I wonder if you can go out and get Fox for Connor, but if you're in dire need of a dman, Hughes is good

Hughes is worth more than Connor.

You are also in a 14 team league with 6 F and 3 D on active rosters, so the math is pretty easy.
    14 x 6 = 84 forwards
    14 x 3 = 42 defensemen

The replacement value forward is the 85th ranked forward. Looking at current stats, that's a mishmash of guys that will likely finish around 60-65 pts. If Connor is a ppg forward, he offers, at minimum, 17 extra points over the 85th forward.
The replacement value dman is the 43rd ranked dman. Looking at current stats, that's a bunch of guys that will likely finish around 35-40 pts. If Hughes is a 70 pt d man, he offers, at minimum, 30 extra points over the 43rd dman.

Hughes >> Connor in points only leagues. Ditto for pretty much all 60+ d men compared to ppg forwards.

I wouldn't necessarily say Hughes has more value than Connor in points-only format but in your particular settings, he clearly does.

I'd try that trade and see if it works.

Harder to get elite D than high end forwards. I would do this

In your format I honestly think Hughes is top 5 out of D. I would defiantly make that trade. He's right there with Fox who others have mentioned, if your just look at straight points. In fact this year Hughes has a better PPG average and last year wasn't very far behind Fox as well.

It hurts to lose Connor but honestly in this case that's a very fair price to pay.
