Default Nathan MacKinnon Injury Impact on Rantannen and Makar

This is one for all you stat buffs...I'm counting on 90 plus from both Makar and Rantannen this season. Is this projection still realistic given Mack's injury...and for that matter all the other injuries on Colorado

Not going to be as easy as before. They need help getting there and most of that help is hurt.

Will need to double check but thought Rantanen produced really well in the past when MacKinnon was injured. Issue is what Feenom brought up, so many important players missing. Will see who steps up… hopefully MacKinnon is not out too long.

Rantanen has already been in this position before. He played C1 while Mack was injured last season and he did quite well - I wouldn't worry too much.

Owning high end Avs players is both a blessing and a curse. I have MacKinnon and Makar in my keeper and it’s the same thing every year. White hot stack when healthy but expect big chunks of the season lost to injuries.

The hockey gods simply won’t allow MacKinnon to have a 100pt year. He’s paced for it like five times but gets hurt and misses too much time. Makar has had his injury problems as well.

The Avs either have the worst training staff in all of hockey or their play style just comes at the cost of constant injuries. You rarely get meaningful updates on a guys status and half the time Bednar doesn’t even know when he’s getting a player back until he shows up to practice one day. It’s super frustrating. The fact the team stayed healthy enough to win the Cup is nothing short of a miracle. And even then it came at a cost as Landeskog hasn’t played since.

Yea, I have 3 Avalanche (MacKinnon, Rantanen and Makar) and some weeks when they are hot it is awesome. Will need to look at moving 1 and no way I am moving Makar. Will see what I can get for Rantanen and possibly MacKinnon when he is back.

Challenge is who and if another team will even consider a deal
