Trouba - time to cut loose?
League 1 in sig - Trouba has been the biggest fail of my draft this year. I took him in the first round (aka 9th round) over a rookie/prospect as I was looking for a D to provide some stability to my top 4.
That has failed spectacularly and he’s been my worst performing player all season.
I’ve been holding onto him because (a) I don’t want to fully accept my draft mistake and (b) the waiver wire D options aren’t really super exciting.
Would you hold onto Trouba and hope for a bit of improvement, or replace him with any of these waiver options?

The Rangers are struggling, I'm not sure what's wrong, but the first 1/4 has been underwhelming. Trouba's performance too, has been underwhelming, but if the Rags turn things around and there is every chance they will, Trouba will be OK. None of the other options you list suggest bailing on Trouba now. Wait for the turn around.

stick it out a little longer and then Matheson should be considered because of his deploy if things don't get better. Rangers do not have contender caliber forward depth as far as peak production forwards here and now. Laffy and Kakko are obvi still not able to fill the void left by Copp, Vatrano and that is crippling them. They need to trade for an impact top six forward and a veteran third pair D a la Joel Edmundson. Schneider is good but very young and Zac Jones needs to be moved like Nils was to a team where he can be in an offensive role, he is not shutdown style at all.

I think Matheson and Fowler deserve consideration, but I would hold Trouba.
