I'm not sure I get it from Minnesota's standpoint. What does he truly bring to that team that Foligno doesn't already bring?

A good excuse to demote Rossi?

Reaves asked for a trade after being healthy scratched apparently, and NYR were even open to "future considerations" for Reaves. Which is odd that Minny would give a 5th for him.

How this liability is still in the league is beyond me.

Nothing, but damn I hope he doesn't cut into Foligno's role

I think they already had that.

I guess I'm way behind here, but wasn't Reeves joining the Rangers considered not long ago a good and necessary thing to give them some physicality and an available deterrent against their star players being taken advantage of? What changed?

I think the 4th lines numbers just weren’t there with him and they needed to get more from the bottom 6. He just can’t keep up in todays NHL and outside of a few teams, do you really need a guy that is limited to basically just being a fighter anymore?

Bonus is they cleared a chunk of cap (I can’t believe they were able to do that without at least retaining half -especially considering the cap issues with the parise and suter buyouts).
