Points only:
Wyatt Johnston
Kappo Kakko
Connor McMichael
I know Johnston is the hot name right now, but we all know how thing can go!

I have to agree.
Not sure if McMichael is a disappointment, but he is a distance 3rd out of that group behind Johnston and Kaako.
As of right now. The way you listed them is their ranking.
I think Wyatt has best chance of staying in the top spot of the 3.
I wouldn't declare that McMichael is a disappointment. It hasn't been great, but keep in mind he is 21 yrs old and only played in 6 games so far. He is going back to the AHL and hopefully he does well there and that leads to a better return with the NHL later.

I've got Wyatt and McMichael on my roster and would rank them the same way. McMichael is being sent down to the minors and I hope it is for the rest of the year. There is no space for him on the current roster and playing on the 4th line is not great for him. My league graduates minors at 100 games played, so him going to the minors, building his game, and challenging for a top 9 spot next year is the scenario I am hoping for.

No love for Kakko? No one sees this guy as a potential top 20 player anymore?
I'll give a different perspective. I'm rebuilding and I do a lot of research on prospects. By no means am I a prospect guru but I do farm a lot of different opinions.
Mcmichael- His sliding here is criminal. He was a very good prospect and his own struggle has been to get proper nhl deployment something that Washington is starting to become known for- they cock blocked vrana for years too. Some prospects take longer to acclimate and in this case he isn't even being given a fair shake. On this list I think he has the best chance to be a true offensive star- ppg or better or bust. I'd say he's not even close to a bust yet tho and many ppl trading jim as such.
Kk- I think his absolute upside might not be what we were expecting but an extremely good two player is developing here with a scoring touch. You don't here of wingers that commit to defensive play very often but it happens. I think he canbe Palat with maybe a bit better scoring still. He may settle in as Palat but I see something more here lots of oundits who really don't whiff very often bought in on this guy and hes an analytics darling with his defensive play. More often than not players who work that smart who are that smart will find a way to add offense it .ight take time though.
Johnston- is a very misunderstood prospect. Does he have an offensive ceiling? Yeah he might. You don't score as much as he did last year without having something in your bag of tricks but keep in mind there ARE red flags. Hes really only had one elite offensive season, as if that wasn't bad enough it happened as an overages (shades of wolsko), he's literally known for his commitment to two way and defensive play (not a bad thing for the team but fantasy gms don't mind if a ayer cheats for offense periodically- he wont) and maybe due to all these factors bayders model which is pretty highly regarded has his star percentage at like 8%. So can he be an offensive star? Yes he can but there are so many factors to indicate thats not what he's about. Yes players can bloom late- i literally just said that (twice!) And maybe that's the way he goes but its a red flag for sure one that has been a better warning than .out for me several times.
Mcmichael- best upside biggest risk
Kakko- least risk and moderate upside
Johnston- very little risk but very small star percentage
Exactly the why you have it listed
