Trade: Connor vs Gaudreau + Heiskanen

I was just offered a trade (I am Team A).

Team A: Gaudreau and Heiskanen
Team B: Connor and Spurgeon (basically off waivers and will be dropped).

Notable Defencemen on the waiver wire: Chychrun, Chabot, and Dunn.

Cats: G, A, +/-, SOG, HITS and PPP

I’ve got strong defense including Makar, Pietrangelo and Morrisey. Offence is slightly lacking so I could compromise. With Gaudreau struggling with no real strong linemates at CBJ and with Laine out, I am tempted but not sure giving up a L1 PP1 defenceman on the hot stars team is worth it.
Is this trade worth it? If so, which defenceman on the wire should I pick up?

You’d be giving up too much in this deal, however if you are confident you can grab Chabot off the wire, I prefer Connor/Chabot to Gaudreau/Heiskanen.

I agree with this. Is there a way to secure Chabot ahead of time, by dropping your least valuable player and then reclaiming him by dropping Spurgeon?

Thanks for the input! Haha it will be a bit of a toss up as Chabot was just dropped and midnight is when he would be eligible for pickup. I'll try to secure him with a high FAAB. Unfortunately I can't drop anyone ahead of time to secure him and this would have to be after the trade when I've gotten rid of Heiskanen to make some room.
