Another Goalie Mess

Seems like way more goalie uncertainty than usual to start this season, which is fun!

Here's my mess:
Logan Thompson - outstanding start to the year. My #1
Pavel Francouz - hoped he would get the #1 job, that has not happened. good numbers when he plays.
Elvis Merzlikins - what a bloody sh$*#)show. terrible numbers to start and now out 1-2 weeks
Casey DeSmith - recent addition. A few good games but is a career backup for a reason.

Available:
Scott Wedgewood - Not impressive to date
Filip Gustavsson (MIN) - Could be an OK short term add while MAF is out
Mackenzie Blackwood - OK numbers, Devils red hot. currently on IR
Karel Vejmelka - a starter, but in Arizona
Seymon Varlamov - good numbers, but a backup.

Ideally I would like to run with just 3 goalies, but given the mess I think I have to run 4 for now. Any swaps you see worthwhile?
I was thinking of dumping DeSmith for Gustavsson short term and maybe Blackwood longer term.

Gus over Casey. I just dumped Elvis I could not roster with my IR's filled. Vej is def a spot start consideration they are not as bad as last season IMO.

I have MAF so I went the Gus route and thank God he is not in my lineup because he is not doing well at all. 2 goals let in on 4 saves in the 1st period. I think Vej is the way to go and start him where he has a decent chance. Dump DeSmith because Jarry is not that bad and he is a career back up.

Wedgwood was seriously injured tonight and was stretchered off the ice, so he's out.

Just picked up Gus today to help with my crease mess and started him tonight. Not a good start but at least I’ll get my number of weekly starts.

In another league I picked up Vejmelka just to make the weekly minimum starts. Spotting him as needed only.

I think I’d rather have Varlamov. Even though he’s a backup you can usually count on a good start.

It's between Gustavsson, Vejmelka, or Varlamov of these choices.

Gustavsson & Vejmelka should get a good number of starts short term.
Varlamov should give proven good ratios.

I'dgo with any of them over DeSmith. Varlamov is DeSmith with better talent, so he's a straight upgrade.

Do you have to drop someone in order to add Blackwood(IR)? Based on the teams they are playing with combined with the individual talent, I would say Gustavsson is the best bet short term, Blackwood is the best gamble bet long term.
