Are the US fans being optimistic or do they really think they're on the same level with England?

I guess this game will be a measuring stick as to how far the US program has come. Plus could be temporary bragging rights on what to call the sport, soccer if Yanks win and football if English win. US moving the ball nicely so far.

Besides Ake, Van Dijk, and De Jong, I can't point to any players who looked like they belonged out there for the entire match. Garbage play from the Dutch side, they got lucky to escape with a point.
I think de jong and van dijk are overrated too.

Van dijk was to blame for the action that resulted in goal against.
De jong doesnt play forward but rather wide and back. Its exhausting to watch the dutch play this style of soccer.

They brought this kid Simons to Qatar that Id love to see get a shot as well as Lang. It seems the coach wants to keep playing the same players with same boring results.

Lets be honest, against Senegal they also didnt play well.

I expected more of the orange

I didn't want to be the one to say it's the coach, but I don't disagree.

USA played well. England, again.... was playing to not lose. I would have liked to see TAA given a shot towards the end. They needed some creativity and he is world class in that area. Would have also liked to have seen Foden come on. He is also world class. Grealish did change things up, but they couldnt really get the ball to Rashford at all. Not sure how many touches he had, but it couldnt have been many. USA did well.

Canada can beat Morocco and ties Croatia (or vice versa)
    Belgium beats both teams.

That seems like the most likely best case for Canada to advance.

Belgium vs Morocco plays before the Canada game tomorrow so that helps slightly.

If Morocco holds on for the win here against Belgium then Canada needs a result vs Croatia. Belgium playing like they’re ranked 89. Horrible game by them and deserve to lose yet again. If they get a point then it’s robbery for a second time. No creativity or drive from this Belgian team.

Canada’s next program milestone has to be developing solid defensive mid fielders. They have wings, good strikers but need that Gatusso/Dunga type who can shut down the mid rushes. Got the goal, gotta get a point then a win. How long that will take who knows but it’s progression. Develop those closers and avoid the shoot outs. Still very entertaining from Canada.

Yeah, they created some decent chances just haven't found the finishes yet. They're going to have to tighten up their midfield though, Croatia has way too much space on the counter.

Alfonso Davies the man who thinks he needs to do it all himself.
Nice goal sure, but very selfish after. As a left mid he was out of position most of the game.

Too bad to see Canada go out, but they can build on this for 2026.

Ghana - Korea was one of the most entertaining matches I've seen so far.

Just love these "lesser" countries play their hearts out. So much passion for their country. Some of the top countries can learn a thing or two from that.
