Disclaimer up front, not a big Messi fan but appreciate his superstardom. Hope France wins and off hand prediction of 2-1 France. At least hoping for it. Should be a fun and intriguing final. Enjoy the drama.

I've been watching games while dealing with COVID and several of them were on right when my symptoms were at their worst. Suffice it to say having a distraction like this has been a treat. To think that Argentina almost wasn't here after that very late amazing goal by the Netherlands, only to see them not parlay the momentum into sudden death penalty kicks.

Usually if you don't like Messi because you like Ronaldo or Real Madrid or are from Portugal. Nobody sees the pitch as well as Messi and I always like players who dribble. With Messi you get a midfield playmaker and a striker. His ability to score from outside the box and his seeing eye passing which can fill hours of highlights are thrilling. I love watching Zidane play and Ribery. It will be an interesting Final for sure. France has to be the favorite, but it would be so cool to see a few moments of Messi magic in the final.

You are right on 2/3 counts. I always liked Ronaldo because he’s got a killer instinct around the twine. Good passer, excellent dribbler and vicious finisher. But I appreciate what Messi brings to the table. His passing and vision is unmatched. Still prefer to see FRA repeat but won’t be upset if Messi gets his WC. Can’t wait, too bad it’s come and gone so fast.

Of all the teams in the tournament - these are the two I want the least to win :/.
Go France I guess - Mbappé can get it

Great half by Argentina. France needs a goal and go from there. I didn’t think that was a penalty but Dembele overplayed DiMaria to begin with. Goal of the tournament on that 2nd Argentina goal, great passing. 45+ mins from Messi getting his WC.

Shocker, another garbage call for penalty for Argentina. Dembele barely touched him. But fine, if thats a penalty why didnt France get one in 87th minute? There was most definitely contact there too, albeit minimal contact.

In any event with all this GOAT talk at the worldcup, I think we can finally crown the GOAT of soccer.

    KYLIAN MBAPPE

23 yrs old, 1 world cup, 1 runner up. Makes amazing plays anywhere on the field, not just from the penalty spot like someone else I saw play this tournament.

Congrats Argentina, you made me some money today.

Thanks for the soccer chat during the tournament boys

Awesome game. Messi didn't need this win to solidify goat status but it shuts up the Ronaldo fan boys who cry that he doesn't do anything with national team. Mbappe was a late force in the game as well, clinical from the spot and was dangerous. Clash of titans. After missed opportunity in 2014 and playing with injury in other world cups things finally came together for greatest player of this generation. I believe a film crew filmed Messi and the world cup and some documentary or movie to come out of it. What a story. From the streets of Rosario to world cup glory. He overcame a lot and had a lot of ups and downs along the way.
