Being offered McDavid in 1 year league. My gut says no

Trading GM has offered to substitute Giroux for Pavelski if I so desire

On paper I get the best player, but its a 1 year league with 16 teams and depth is important and the waiver wire is bare. My gut is telling me to reject or counter because my team is doing well since I sold a few goalies for some depth. Makar and Pavelski are heating up(Just got them by trading Samsonov before his injury), Pettersen is playing well(Traded Gibson after his first win for him lol) and Crosby has long been a solid 2nd half player who gets better with FOW as the season goes on.

His team is: McDavid C, Lindholm C, Beniers C, Reinhart C/RW, Raymond RW, Perron RW, Ross Colton C/LW, Anders Lee LW, Lehkonen LW/RW, Keller LW/RW, Morgan Reilly D, Krug D, Hamilton D, Karlsson D, Evander kane LW IR, Teravainen LW/RW IR, THompson G, Markstrom G, Stolarz G

I would honestly be more interested in Reinhart than Beniers but that would neuter my Faceoff wins, and would drop Krug and Teravainen. If I were to take an IR player, it would be Evander Kane, who would be healthy just in time for the playoffs if I am lucky.

Since my trades, I am already one of the better offensive teams and have solid goaltending. Do i really need McDavid?

Assuming you speak of Elias Pettersson, I would not accept this trade.
Sure McDavid is the best player but all combined, your stack is way better. Plus you would have to drop 2 of the players he offer, so better not to count them in.

Maybe try a counter offer with the players you prefer and see what you can get... As you said, you already have a solid team as it is, so I guess he is the one who needs drastic changes, not you.

First of you are giving up the best D in the game and two highly top offensive players in Elias Pettersson and Crosby for basically McDavid. Then Pavelski who is off to a tremendous start this season. Sure you are getting back Beniers who is a future star. Raymond is doing okay and Krug is often injured.

Yeah I rejected shortly after I made this post lol.

And I am creaming the guy who offered that trade this week. Unless his price comes down, nobody will touch that in a 1 year
