Who would you rather for the Jays:
Jansen at $16m aav for 2yrs
Walker at $18m avv for 4yrs
Kikuchi at $10m aav for 2yrs

This offseason really makes Gausman at $21m and Berrios at $15.7m nice (I have confidence in Berrios bounce back though). However, it makes me not confident in the Jays paying a good price for a 4th/5th SP this offseason that would deliver any consistent confidence.

Cards sign Wilson Contreras (C). Not good for the Jays trade hopes as it removed one of the main partners.

Bogaerts signed an 11yr, 280m deal with the San Diego Padres. I'm assuming this is to cover SS while Tatis is out, then to 2B when he's back. Then his production is to cover Machado who's likely to opt out next yr.

Dodgers are not pursuing Correa over the fact they fear what their fans will think.

Bogearts at 30yrs old signing an 11yr deal is just ridiculous lol.

I know it won't happen, but I would love the MLB to readjust their money rules to include:
    - Remove the amount of players drafted, remove the amount of minor league teams you have.
    - If you don't remove the above, remove the team control length some how so the players get to FA sooner.
    - Cap the yrs a player can sign for to 5-8yrs.
    - Add in a lower cap limit so teams are forced to sign some players.

Removing the amount of minor league fluff will force players to be used in the Majors sooner. Push the older crap players out of the league (Drew Hutchinson is still in the league lol).

Starting the FA clock earlier will limit these crazy long deals because Bogearts put the time in, he's an All-Star SS (soon to be 3B/2B). But he should already have gotten his big payday before 30yrs old. Or at least hitting FA before 30.

Lowering the allowed yrs to sign for I think is good for the league as it promotes free agency, and sadly protects dumb GMs from signing deals that they think "if it doesn't work out, not my problem". No way the Padres GM is there to shake Bogearts hand in 2034 when his deal is up.

Adding a LCL won't even be that hard if young players are brought into the league quicker, and their team control is lowered as they get those $10m deal quicker.

There's so much wrong with baseball and these 8+yr deals being signed at 30+yrs old that you can see a lockout coming from 4yrs away (CBA expires December 2026).

If KK is the replacement for Tapia I like it. If it's the replacement for Teo, the whole situation has been a blunder.

I think the Jays tried to replacement Teo with one player (Nimmo, Bellinger) but failed and will now replace him with multiple people (KK, Gallo) and hope they can improve their D on the field, and hope a bat comes alive.

Jays have been adamant about improving team defense, and KK does that.

This is an upgrade to the D but misses on the offense. This is more about finding someone to play CF so they can move Springer to RF than anything else.

Sean Manaea to Giants for $25m, 2yrs, with an opt out.

This yr might be the MLB equivalent to the David Clarkson to Maple Leafs free agent yr.

Sean Murphy traded to the Braves. They're loading up.

I think those interested in one of the Jays catchers were waiting on this move.

Jays signing Chris Bassett. This is a guy I really like and was hoping the Jays would go after. Statistically speaking, he's a solid starter and very underrated.

Very happy with this move. Another solid starter with upside and the ability to eat innings.

Now trade a C for OF.
