Padres offered Trea Turner a deal worth more than what the Mets gave Lindor ($341m). Sooooo does that mean they are open to moving on from Tatis? Was the deal for Turner including a move to 2B once Tatis was back?

Judge was offered over $360m by the Giants.

Matt Strahm goes 2 years for $7 million. I guess this is why the Jays never get in on these middle inning/relief pitchers. That feels like a lot for him.

Jays offered more guaranteed money to Heaney. But Texas taxes vs Ontario taxes likely played a part in this.

Interesting interview with Scott Boras and SN reporters Mae and Nicholson-Smith. He says the Jays are more focused on left handed bats than they are pitching right now. It's also interesting that most of the left handed bats on the market are mainly his clients too. With Bellinger gone, Nimmo and Gallo are two of the names still floating around. Conforto and Brantley are still options as well. I won't lie, none of those names excite me one bit. All are either injury prone or recovering from major injuries and Gallo is just terrible. I think they are better off going the FA market for pitching and the trade market for a left handed bat.

Gallo in Toronto where there isn't the shift is enticing. But I know he'll cost more than I'd be willing to pay for a flier.

If he didnt strike out 40% of the time, he'd be more attractive.

Oh ya, he doesn't fit what the Jays clearly want to do with their lineup, which is versatility, hitting, speed, and run prevention. Gallo isn't much of any of that.

I'd be surprised if he ended up with the Jays. I'd be surprised if he ended up with any team in the ALEast (outside of Boston maybe). But if he was signed to way below his $9m aav market value, I wouldn't say no because at that dollar ($6m?) you can cut him and it's not really a big issue. Plus I'd expect the signing to happen in like March as a last minute thing.

    This is just Boras talking.

I was really hoping the Jays would find their OF before Judge signed. All this is going to do is drive up the price for the other OFs available now that Judge is off the market. Teams that were interested in Judge (SF, LAD, BOS?) are now going to be in the Nimmo race.

I still dont like Nimmo to the Jays but he seems to be the one they are chasing, along with more teams now. If his market wasn't competitive before, it definitely is now.

I have to say, I am surprised the Jays haven't signed an OFer yet. The trade of Teo was a win IF there was another move coming, and that was 3 weeks ago.

Well pieces are gonna start to fall now.
