    2 "official" signings so far:
    Edwin Diaz re-signs in NYM. $102m, 5yr ($20.4aav) with a 6th yr option
Robert Suarez re-signs in SDP. $46m, 5yr ($9.2aav). Reportedly the highest contract signed by a non-closer.

    Rumoured:
Kershaw returning to LAD on a 1yr deal.

Rumoured. I want to emphasis that. But Alex Anthopolis has had discussions with 3 other teams about the possible ACUNA TRADE. They are all American League Teams. Rumoured to be Mariners, Orioles, and Blue Jays. He is receiving pushback on any deal from around the organization, but to note all 3 teams have a mix of MLB talent and prospects to get an Acuna trade done.

The history of long-term reliever contracts for pitchers into their 30s is bad. But, as the Mets' owner has more money than about anyone, maybe that won't matter.

I can't imagine an Acuna trade, but you never know.

Rays are engaged in serious talks about trading (most likely) pitchers before the Tuesday 40man roster deadline. Teams involved are Mets, Cubs, Reds, and LAA.

Marlins are looking to trade Pablo Lopez for a hitter

Rumours of the Brewers are listening to offers for Woodruff and Burnes.

Redsox are prioritizing signing pitching than deal with Devers extension (1yr left), which leads reporters to think he could be traded this offseason.

National League Rookie of the Year - Harris over Strider - what are your thoughts?

I dunno, Harris almost had a 20HR/20SB yr in 114games. Strider had 202ks in 131ip....

I think Harris was more important to the team as he really covered the Acuna whole, and his WAR says he was better (5.3 vs 3.7). I think it was a coin flip really.

However, my Keeper league team has Julio Rodriguez and Harris III so...I like that.

I would have gone with Strider by a hair, but you can't be wrong with either Harris or Strider. If only because it is harder to come in as a rookie starting pitcher than as a hitter, I think.

Teoscar Hernandez to Mariners. No idea the return yet. Sounds like its for BP help. Someone said it's for Flexen and Torro. Someone else said Flexen and Kelenic. So who the heck knows right now.

    From Passan:
Erik Swanson (RHP-reliever) , and Macko (LHP-starter) for Hernandez.

Macko is the Mariners #8 prospect.

    Swanson - 53.2ip, 1.68ERA, 0.91WHIP, 11.74k/9. 29yrs old. Team control till 2026. Estimated salary for 2023 is $1.6m
Macko - He's supposed to be in the MLB around 2024.

I haven't been following baseball all that much these last couple of years but this strikes me as a surprising move from the Jays. Isn't he a fan favorite in Toronto?
    Without me, it's only "aweso".

I can't say I enjoy this move too much. However, I reserve full judgement until post free agency. Teo was great for the Jays but he's entering his final yr of team control and is set to make $13m I think. So the Jays save $12m while beefing up their BP with a back end arm and a prospect. If they can sign a guy like Nimmo to replace Teo I like this move. If they don't add an OF via free agency or trade then the Jays gave away Teo.

For the Mariners, this is a big acquisition. They need power to help Julio out.

Geez. Two relievers on a team with a ton of prospect depth?

I understand it's a rental but this doesn't seem like much.
