Default U7 Hockey Rotations for games - Help!

    Hello friends,

I am looking for a resource of sorts that would help with rotations for U7 Timbits hockey.

I was going to create a spreadsheet - but I figured I would check in with the community to see if anyone had already went through the process or had a resource they used.

For example some games we play 4 vs 4 and some games we play 5 vs 5, and some games we have 8 kids show up and some games we have 10 kids show up.

So is there a resource that can help with the rotation to ensure equal playing time for all the kids?

I'm guessing you're trying to manage playing time during the game so 3 players don't stay out for 3min and the other 7 kids stay out for only 1minute?

Or are you worried about playing time over the season?

Or are you worried about a player not getting enough forward shifts and getting stuck on defense all season as that kids too quiet to say he wants to play forward?

We switch every 3:00 minutes - buzzer sounds and we switch.

The concern is mostly when we don't have enough kids for two complete lines.
So there is need for some kids to get double shifted at each 3:00 interval.

Hmm...It's hard for something like this, but you need to explain to them a bit about the situation and it can get confusing but they'll get used to it. Honestly, this is kinda the only way to go but you need to talk them through it. There will be mistakes, but it's really easy to work through it with the whistled shift changes.

I can't think of a system that works smoothly without the kids catching on, and they will. But attached is really the only way to run it to me.Shift Changes.JPG
