Thank you for posting this! I've never really done a roto league and am looking forward to this season. Here's my draft review of my team.

1. (1) Connor McDavid (Edm - C) I’ve never won a league after drafting first, so we’ll see how it goes.

2. (22) Brady Tkachuk (Ott - LW)
3. (23) Timo Meier (SJ - LW,RW) Loved these two picks in this format. I got great category coverage, but I also started my march towards really suspect plus/minus.

4. (44) Frederik Andersen (Car - G)
5. (45) Morgan Rielly (Tor - D) Was really hoping Letang, Carlson or E. Kane would fall to me here, but they evaporated in three of the four picks right before mine. Ice Dogs snaking Kane the pick before mine stung as I think he’s going to be incredible. I’m not huge into Rielly, but he was the last one slotted into that tier for me. I took Andersen here because I was terrified of a goalie run occurring before I went again. It didn’t happen, so I probably should have snagged another winger.

6. (66) Nikolaj Ehlers (Wpg - LW,RW)
7. (67) Tristan Jarry (Pit - G) Ehlers finally gets to be top line and top PP, I think he’s going to give me great value here. I’ve never done a roto league before and generally play head-to-head categories. I usually fade goalies pretty hard because All Goalies Are Bastards and even with weaker goalies, I typically split those cats while cleaning up elsewhere. However, with this league having weekly waiver processing and deep rosters, I decided to invest in the position here. I’m curious to see how it will play out.

8. (88) Bryan Rust (Pit - RW)
9. (89) Roope Hintz (Dal - C) My plan was to sure up defense with one of these two picks, but there was a run. I considered Dobson here, but it just felt like a reach. Rust and Hintz both play on great lines with good power play units. Feeling like I needed points and PPP, these are the guys I took. Also, I like how it makes me look at RW.

11. (111) Brayden Point (TB - C) Was excited to see Bouchard falling to me here, but he went three picks before mine. Had Gudus queued up but the Ice Dogs did it again! Took Faulk because I need to have six D and the pickin’ was getting slim. In retrospect, I should have taken Trouba, but I panicked. I think Point will outperform his ADP by a ton and was glad to take him here.

12. (132) Andrew Mangiapane (Cgy - LW,RW)
13. (133) Neal Pionk (Wpg - D) I hoped to land Mangiapane or Raymond here, so this was fine.

14. (154) Linus Ullmark (Bos - G)
15. (155) Tage Thompson (Buf - C) I was happy with this turn. In my usual leagues, I wouldn’t have picked up a third goalie. Here, there are 164 games available and two goalies aren’t going to get close to that. So, Ullmark gets me starts without sacrificing GAA. I am excited to have Thompson as my fourth center.

The rest of my picks were stuffing my D spots and collecting players that I feel have interesting upside. I’m comfortable with my forwards and my goaltending. It will be interesting to see if I made the right call investing in the goaltending position. Also, I usually try to get two really good defensemen and stream the other positions in head-to-head. So, I hate that I missed out on quality at D, but just felt the value was elsewhere on the turn. I think I’ll get sufficient category coverage from them. I’ll just have to manage my plus/minus in some way to not completely punt that category. Overall, I’m excited the season has started and looking forward to learning this format.
