It's defiantly closer than people make it seems. Recency bias is a heck of a thing but I would go with the upside of Hughes as well.

If the Hughes owner in my league wasn’t a Devils fan I might try offering my Pettersson for him but even then it probably wouldn’t be enough. I honestly don’t think their upsides are drastically different though. People are already forgetting how good Pettersson can be. After his wrist healed and Boudreau really got him going he was scoring at just shy of a 100pt pace for almost the whole second half.

I had both on my roster last year - kept Hughes and traded EP in a package for Josi.

Other Manger couldn’t let Hughes go. He wanted Husso so tried to get him to trade Jack Hughes for EP and Husso. But he said he couldn’t give up Hughes.
