Thanks for all the feedback! The other GM had second thoughts and now proposed my 2023 1st + Oettinger for his Fox. That’s way too rich for me. Oettinger and Fox are roughly the same (1 really good season and highly touted upside). Adding my 1st next year, which is when we’re also reducing keepers, seems like a big overpay.

And after a lot of back and forth the past few hours, we finally agreed to the following deal:
- My 2022 2nd (22nd overall) + 2023 1st
- His Fox + 2022 6th
It’s a little steeper than I wanted to pay. But I kept Oettinger, feel like I put myself in a strong spot to compete this year, and hopefully the hockey trade gods look favorably on me next year.
