That's a terrible signing. Another pedestrian ex-Blues goalie gets a pretty big contract that they aren't worth. Allen is a NHL backup, his only really good year was his last year in St Louis after he lost the starting job.

habs are rebuilding so its a curious career path for Jake but if he's happy with that , good for him .
the market for above average 1B types that will sign for 2.5-3.5 seems to be getting really thin so I think this deal works well for both sides.
