Default Who to drop - rep given

I just picked up Slafkovský in my rookie draft. I need to make space in my minors. I have Mercer, Boqvist, Perunovich, and Nedeljovic. The two main options I'm considering are to drop/trade Nedeljovic or call Mercer up to my main roster, but I'm not sure if he's ready.

I think you are spot on. Mercer has been getting a fair amount of hype. A 42 point rookie season is nothing to sneeze at. A lot of prognosticators have him in the 48-55 point range. If he sticks in the top 6, he could possibly eclipse those predictions.

Nedelijovic could be relegated to the back up with Husso in Detroit now, or at best a time share.

I would drop Nedelijovic. He is 26 years old and is not going to be the starter for the Red Wings. They brought in Ville Husso for a reason. Dawson Mercer could get 40 points like he did last season, but he could also drop as well with a player like Holtz emerging and him playing on the line with Jack Hughes. If Mercer is stuck on the 3rd line his value drops. I would still keep him though because he is only 20 years old. Like I said drop Nedelijovic.

Goalies can take time to break out but Ned isn't in the right situation right now. He's a backup with an expiring contract, that's not great. I'd drop him and keep Mercer.

well the way i read the OP the option is to drop Nedeljkovic and keep 3 skaters or call up Mercer and keep 2 skaters and Nedeljkovic. Question is who you would need to drop to call up Mercer as im not as eager as others to drop Nedeljkovic as others. If you can keep all 4 by calling up Mercer i think i would do that...

I'd probably straight-drop Boqvist. (whichever one)

Jesper doesn't have enough offensive upside.
Adam is now roadblock by both Werenski and the newly drafteds Mateychuk & Jiricek.

(FWIW - I'm not big on Nedeljkovic... but... DET could be good... and Husso could get injured... or he could crumble under pressure of being the expected #1... those things are more possible, IMO, than Boqvist turning into anything high-end)

I agree with dropping Boqvist. He's a Gostisbehere type without a PP1 unit to ply his trade. And it'll be Werenski for the foreseeable future there.

The only problem I have with calling up Mercer is that on CBS he is only listed as a C. A 50-point C isn't all that usable when I have Larkin, Kopitar and MacKinnon. I'll probably drop Ned or A. Boqvist.

No. Either I drop one of the 4 and have 3 prospects or call up a prospect and have 3 prospects. I need to do 1 of the 2 to make room for Slaf.

I would drop Perunovich. I am not saying the guy isn't talented, but he has a run of bad luck with injuries. He would have to be the player that would be booted.
