Considering the Habs have the FLA 1st rounder, let's hope this happens and they fall into the lottery!

This yr Florida has like $6.5m in buyouts (Yandle+Darling) and next yr they have $1.2m in buyouts (Yandle). I'm assuming they are arguing the money is coming from that. And they have about $11m next yr for 4 players, and with only Lundell as a high end player needing a deal, I don't think they are exactly screwed, but they have little margin for error signing bargain deals to fill gaps. It's like Minny with no young talent. They have the ability to stay competitive, but they have no room for error.

Also, Duclair tore his achilles didn't he? They might be able to get $3m more from him depending how he heals.

This year, perhaps not. But as suggested above, everyone in the NHL knows that Bob is going to be moved. It would behoove Florida to keep Bob in there and keep him winning so as to prop up his value.

I agree with a franchise move possibility, but not with them missing the playoffs this year. They'd probably need 2-3 guys to go down for the year on top of who is already out.
