Well wasn't my idea going in. I had a rough draft that left me severely lacking in projected goalie GP with a WW so barren. I had choices to make. Last year I finished 5th with my goalies really disappointed me getting only 6 or 7 points.
Doubling up from last year, getting 14 points this year I will take it! Playing anyone else would have dropped my GAA (losing me points) while likely not gaining elsewhere so decisions were made. My team dropped to the basement of the league and behind by ~20 GP for LW and RW (some of it by neglect). I had space to pickup.
I don't think this is a viable way to play to win the league. The top teams got 33, 21, 25 points from their goalies. You need more than 14 points from goalies to win the league.

As far as breaking the sportsmanship of the game... I believe as GM I am free to manage my team (add/drops bench/play players) as I see fit, to the betterment of my team within the rules. I did both, doing what I felt was best for my team to avoid relegation.

What is in the rules/settings is a max games played set per position. 328 GP for each forward position, 492 for D, 164 for G.
I find it a bit hypocritical to complain about someone not maximizing their games played (their choice), while at the same time exploiting the platform (yahoo) to go over the this set maximum games played.
But it's all good because everyone does it right?
