    Default Gibson vs. Thompson

interesting situation in Vegas now with Lehner out all year and the goaltending situation in flux. In a simple 4-cat league (W, GAA, Saves, SO), who would you pick this year as the better goalie?

John Gibson ANA or Logan Thompson VGK?

Both are meh (and I'm a ducks fan). I'd slightly go Gibby just for volume purposes alone.

I like Gibson for volume but I'd love to be able to sit him in unfavorable matchups in H2H. If that's doable for you, I'd choose him. He usually starts strong in October and November so maybe look to trade him for an upgrade at that point.

I think Thompson is going to be the go to guy in Vegas and the Golden Knights are the better team than the Ducks. I would lean towards Thompson.

Thomspon, Gibson hasn't been good in far too long, I'm not sure Stolarz can't take that job from him. I suspect the Ducks would love Gibson to start strong and trade him.

Gibson - play him early when he always does well, then see who's available to drop him for once he comes back to earth

Because you have SAVES and not SAVE %, I will go with Gibson. He is a volume starter, so he'll do well for you in saves. If it were percentage, I wouldn't want him, since he would be damaging two categories (GAA being the other) each week.

Gibson has a known name but he has not produced for a while… I would roll dice with Thompson based on fact that he got upside.
