Keepers for the New Season

Hello everyone (sorry, I thought I posted under the correct category),

I'm in a limited keeper league. We can only keep 5 players for 3 seasons each. Only 1 goalie is allowed on the keeper list. I have all my keepers for 2 more seasons but wondering if I have room for Oettinger. I've always liked his play and I think he will continue to improve. I'm thinking of dropping Pettersson after his last season. I would love to hear your opinions on my keepers.

you need to keep Kane over Hamilton and you're only dumping Petersson to keep Robertson.

I would actually consider dropping Hamilton for Oettinger.

Given that you'd be tossing Oettinger & Sorokin back, I say keep neither.

I like Kane or Robertson over Pettersson with the categories you have. Keeping 4 wingers in a keep 5 is a bit odd, but it's fine.

I'd try to move 2 keepers for one in a deal, somebody may want a combination of Pettersson, a wing or a goalie.

Auston Matthews
Sidney Crosby
Patrice Bergeron
Andrei Vasilevskiy
Patrick Kane
John Tavares
Victor Hedman

Which of these would I have the best shot at with Pettersson and Hamilton...or other players on my roster?

I'd aim for Hedman ( reasonable) or Matthews ( maybe not, but one can try)

I think Vas is a step up from Sorokin, but I'd aim for Hedman or Matthews.

I just posted a similar thread about keeper options including Oettinger, but in your case, if Kane and Robertson are options for you, Kane seems like a must-keep and Robertson vs Petterson is a decision. I don't see Oettinger bumping those guys out.

What’s your draft position? I’d be keeping Hubredeau, Kucherov, Robertson, Pettersson, and Sorokin.

Also, lotta overblown hype for both Thompson and Kane right now. Leverage that.

So at most 12 goalies will be kept and the rest available to draft. Your list of 8 includes I would not draft early - Tavares and Bergeron. P Kane might fall to you at 8th. Vas won’t. Sorokin and Oettinger would be worthy of a keep depending on what other goalies are available. I’d probably drop Hamilton and keep Oettinger. Or keep the 5 players I mentioned and draft a multicat/scorer in rd 1 and a goalie later.

My league voted on and cut Losses and Shutouts from our goalie stats. With 7 skater stats and 3 goalie stats, I can probably draft my goalies instead of keeping one of them. So, I'm keeping Kucherov, Huberdeau, Debrincat, and Robertson. I'm sort of split on Pettersson and Kane. Projections give Pettersson the edge. Any final thoughts before I pull the trigger tomorrow?

If you can't deal one, I'd probably keep Kane, simply due to how light you are on peripherals, plus positional scarcity. Can't fault either decision, though.
