I remember when he first came to Boston and my roommate at the time actually switched from being a Sens fan to a Bruins fan just because of Big Z.
Watching him captain us to the 2011 cup and his face when hoisting it is a core memory for sure.
Very happy to see him retire a Bruins as well. Thanks for the memories Zdeno !

There was a picture of Chara in Boston yesterday and I was really hoping he wasn't going to sign with Boston for the season, but this makes way more sense. Legend, even though he terrorized the Leafs for years.

A legend considering the unicorn he was.
I remember my Dad asking me who I thought the Sens should keep - Redden or Chara (think it was right after the lockout) and I said "Redden 100%. The new NHL won't have a use for the Chara's of the world".
Ironically big Z was the only thing that aged well there.

Apparently with Chara's retirement, there are no active players left in the NHL who have lost a playoff series to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Although to be honest I didn't think there were any left anyway.
