    Default Monday Morning Kicker Question

    I am down 36 points.

    Remaining players for me:

    Jalen Hurts vs Minnesota
    Justin Jefferson vs Philly
    Kicker Position

    Oponent:

    Stefon Diggs vs Buffalo
Gabe Davis vs Buffalo (who might not play)

Obviously being down by 36 I need a a couple big games.

Which Kicker would you start to maximize the big comeback potential?

    1) Jake Elliot vs Minnesota
    2) Greg Joseph vs Philly
    3) Randy Bullock vs Buffalo

Bonus Question - Do I drop James Cook and pick up Isaiah McKenzie so that if Gabe Davis doesn't play, my opponent cant add McKenzie?

I'm thinking Jake Elliott. You want an offense that methodically goes down the field, but not in big home-run plays. Eagles as a running team, with a not quite great passer fits that that description more than the others. I don't trust the Titans to do much offensively. Minnesota is more of a home-run offense with long passes to Jefferson being a serious threat.

Mind you, random chance is by far the biggest determiner of which kicker will do the best, so we're grasping at straws here.

As to the bonus question, yes. Cook is nothing.

    Thanks!!

Are you concerned that if I have Hurts and Elliot both on Philly that I putting on a ceiling on my potential points and limiting my chance at a comeback?

100% block the Davis insurance move.

I'm going to say the difference between Diggs and Jefferson this week will be nothing. Buffalo is a great defense, but Jefferson is great. So I'll say between Diggs/Jeff, it's moot.

So you're down by 36 now, with Hurts and a Kicker going. You really need 2TDs+3FGs at that point to get the points needed from your Kicker. Do you trust Phillys redzone efficiency or Minnys? You want the team that will stall in the redzone. I honestly don't know, but I would go between Elliot and Joseph. Coin toss and hope.

Perhaps insofar as a Philly FG means that a Hurts TD didn't happen. But that also applies to Minn's kicker and Jefferson. Ultimately, you have to make the best choice at each position. If you were in a place where you truly needed everything to go right, to obtain the 99.9% of results to win, then I can see going a different way for kicker, as Philly isn't likely to score several TDs and several FGs. If you feel the gap requires that "everything must go right" then go with the Minn K.

Ah, the blessing of knowing that there was literally nothing you could have done to win.

Yes, exactly!!! Justin Jefferson was a complete dud in comparison to my expectation of maybe getting a comeback!

If he had performed like week 1... would have been a different story.

    Thanks all for the help!
