Fantrax and the IR

Last year we noticed that Fantrax does not require you to move a player out of the IR spot when the player has come back. We do not have the setting activated in which only real life IR players can go on the IR. If we switch the setting to the IR being for actual IR players only, would that require you to have to move the player back to your active roster once he returns? We use the free Fantrax league and the league does not want to pay for the upgraded league. Thanks in advance for any help.

In our league we had that feature one year and players not activated from the IR in time were automatically dropped onto the waiver wire and sometimes picked up by other teams. It caused chaos and a lot of anger, and we got rid of the feature for league harmony. Not everyone has the time to check the IR slots daily/weekly. It hurts idle GMs, and while I have little sympathy for those types, league harmony is an issue. Imagine losing Malkin/Eichel, etc. for nothing!

A bigger issue for us was teams leaving injured players on the active roster in order to tank. The Commissioner would update this when he had time, but he wasn't able to keep up and teams took advantage. He was complaining about the amount of work and I don't blame him as real life takes precedence over fantasy. We'll be discussing it shortly when our league resumes.

the free version offers the choice of 0 days grace before the team chosen league restrictions are kicked in which means if a guy comes off red flag at some point before games start that day you would need to address it .

there are 2 or so options that are nowhere near as harsh as fantrax dropping the player to waivers but would require you to take immediate action or else forego any stats that day .

Thanks guys. It sounds like we should just keep things status quo and make a rule that players need to be activated after they return. We'll just police ourselves.
