Anyone wish to offer up a point prediction for Steel?

I have to drop one of Steel, Drury (Car.) or Glass in my dynasty for cap reasons.

NHL rumors page has a note on Steel possibly lining up with Boldy.

Time to drop Glass. Or Steel. Tough though, I'd likely want to hold on a little longer with the latter. Besides, Minny's gonna need those cheap contracts to play lol

Says a lot about where Steel's game is when the Ducks let their former 1st round pick walk. I hope he finds his way back and should get a good opportunity in Minny.

Sam Steel is the reason I no longer put any stock into huge D+1 seasons by CHL draftees.
    Ooof.

[His agent also probably sucks... because it was one of the weaker "statements" made regarding the 2018 Canada WJC player involvements.]

His agent is Gerry Johannson (according to Puckpedia).

Guy reps Price, Point, Seabrook, Gallagher, Parayko, Morrissey, Lucic.

His history of contracts though this yr are thin. Copley (0.825), Steel (0.825), Twarynski (0.825), Kulak (2.75), Georgiev (3.4), Vanecek (3.4), Korchinski (0.95), Savoie (0.95), Slafovsky (0.95), Wallstedt (0.95), Sykora (0.87), Bjorklund (0.843), Haydn Fleury (0.762), Cameron Hughes (0.762).

Outside of being a goalie specialist it seems (Georgiev, Vanecek, Wallstedt, Price, Dreiger, Mrazek, Merzlikins, Hill, Cossa) He seems to focus on Rookies and smaller clients right now. But he is the #4 agent in active total contracts (a lot of that's Price though).

    Exactly.
A few years ago it was Nick Robertson that the world was ga-ga about.
Or, look at Owen Zellwegger (who is the real deal) year - who turns 19 in a couple weeks.

In a (typically) age 17-19 league... playing as an 18 year old... with skill... can really show up some stats that aren't so trustable.

Minny just keeps adding these former 1st rounders that haven't panned out. $14M in dead cap. perhaps they're looking for the next Sam Bennett situation.

I'll take a flier on point projection. If things go well - high 30's. He'll be used in the bottom six and will struggle to acquire PP2 TOI to start the year.
It's really hard to see where he fits as a potential top 6 option.

Glass on the other hand, has all the chance in the world to start as the #3C and start with PP2 TOI.
He had a very strong second half in the AHL last year - a large enough stretch that he should be able to build on it.
with Nino & Tomasino as 2nd line wingers (according to some depth charts) It is entirely possible & reasonable he pushes himself into a top 6 role.
There's a chance he pushes 45+pts this year and builds from there.

Drury, if he plays as a C this year is buried on the 4th line and I see no way he gets much PP TOI. 30pts is going to be a real challenge.
I really think the key for him is what Car decides to do with J. Staal. A UFA at the end of the year.

I probably drop Steel here. Just such limited opportunity.
Glass has the opportunity - he just needs to take advantage of it.
Drury is somewhat similar to Steel in opportunity, this year, but then, his projectory has been a much steadier prediction model (he's void of the disappointments and bad seasons lacking development). If Staal goes... potentially, he's all of a sudden battling Kotkan for #2C duties.

I wont go into point prediction but if he can’t succeed in mini I think he is done. I’m not sure any team has worst C situation than Mini. I mean they count on 5’9 dude with 2 NHL games of exp. to be a saviour…. I don’t think steel starts any higher than 3 rd line but I think he could get chance to play higher up the line up down the road once that C depth is tested
