I hate Matthews…but I drafted him…time to trade…

Brand new dynasty w/cap.

I had 2nd overall, lots of Leaf fans in the league so I had to take Matthews. Now, I want him gone.

He’s on my trade block and everyone knows I’m trading him.

I will post offers as they come in and you guys tell me yes or no please. This is my first attempt at this kind of league setup.

My team is right at the cap and people have told me I drafted a good team.

You shouldn't have drafted Matthews to then put him on the block. That's what Driasiatl is for.

I wouldn't have drafted him 2nd overall even if I didn't hate him LOL! As mentioned earlier, you should have avoided this mess and just taken Leon.

Since you are in a Cap league, I believe the likes of Raymond, zegras, Stutzle and Seider could be a good starting point for negociation.

I understand the argument of taking Draisatl at 2 instead of Matthews but I don't hate your strategy.

If you know you have a lot of Leaf fans in your league then you should be able to get an overpayment in return for him. But as others have pointed out, that overpayment is going to have to start with the player that those teams took with their own first round picks

I don’t agree with that. Are you saying nobody has ever received the right value for trading McDavid or Matthews or Draistaitl? I’m here because I know I need the right value to compete.

I don't understand the point of drafting him at 2nd overall if you don't want him. It's not like 2nd overall doesn't give you options. It feels like you're painting yourself into a corner if you expect other GM's to pony up a pile of assets this early on, especially if the others are aware you don't want him. This is like cutting off your nose to spite your face and it feels like a situation where you're creating your own problem. I think you're taking what you can get if you're hellbent on trading him and you'd likely be better off keeping him.
