Default Who would you pick 1st overall?

    Hello poolers,

Lots of mixed info out there about the projectability of the 2022 drafted players ?

In a points only league who would you rather own and why?

Slafkovsky: the big power forward compared often to Rantanen what will play most probably right away.

Cooley: the small IQ player with the biggest upside but in an organization in Arizona not well surrounded.

Wright: average upside well surrounded but has slipped down the ranking charts due to questionable effort left on the ice.

Just curious to see you thoughts on these guys

    Cheers,

I think Cooley has most upside point wise, Slav should be multicat beast and Wright will be in between but I think Wright will get there faster

here is my prediction when they hit about 80% oftheirupside

    Wright - 2 to 3 years
    Cooley - 3 to years
    Slaf - 5 plus
    14 Teams H2H Dynasty, 28 roster spots (8 bench), 15 minors under 100
    Weekly Matchups - Daily Lineups

    Skaters: G/A/Pt/PIM/SoG/STP/H+B/ToI/Corsi
    Goalies: W/GAA/SVs/SV%/SHO

C: Eichel, Kadri, Mcdavid, Sodeberg, Schenn
LW: Ehlers, Landeskog, Meier, Debrusk, Foegele, Lee
RW: Pastrnak, Marner, Palmieri, Terry, D. Brown, Bailey, Granlund
D: Krug, Josi, Ekholm, Faulk, Muzzin, Karlsson, Cernak,
    G: Hellebuyck, Biship, M Jones

... but then if we compare Slafkovsky to Rantanen, he hit is upside in 2 years. Very hard to predict all of this!

Ive always wanted Wright 1st overall. I still think he's the best player in this year's draft in real life and for fantasy.

Points only, I'd honestly trade down if you can and get more assets. Gun to my head, I'd probably pick Wright.

Cooley in points-only. I agree with Als- try to trade down.

Most of you seem to be sold on Shane Wright to be the best fantasy player here, but will he really be the 1st line center down the road over Beniers?

The future is uncertain. But as of today, Wright's resume is greater than that of Beniers. Things could change down the road, but generally speaking, Wright is held in higher esteem. The only advantage Beniers has over Wright at the moment is age. Wright's performance this year should give us a clue as to whether his early success can be revisited.

I'm not sold on Wright and have Beniers over him with a higher upside. Scouts kept waiting for something special or dynamic about Wright's game this season and never found it. If you have an Athletic subscription, go read Corey Pronman's article on how Wright slipped and what numerous scouts said about him. He's still a top 5 prospect with a great future ahead of him but there are reasons why he slipped to #4.

No one owns a crystal ball so who the hell knows how this will play out. For all we know, in 4 years time, someone like Nazar could emerge as the best player from this draft. I'm just a fan of Wrights game and I think he's less of a gamble of hitting his future potential and that potential has always been pretty damn high. These kids don't just lose their skillet at this age.
