Bear in mind that despite his age and recent injury woes, he’s generally had freakishly solid and fast recoveries from injuries on his career. I think he overdid it this time accelerating the return from an achilles tear but he’ll learn from that and allow more time me to heal.

He's not the first player to have recurring long-term injuries. When he recovers he'll have a spot in the league if he wants to play.

There's 32 teams that would hand out a PTO at a min to this guy in September. And there's prolly a dozen of them that would hand out a $1-2m deal. The way the NHL cap is going, and with Bally sports filing bankruptcy potentially changing the forecast for the cap, it kinda lines up for Pac if he is willing to take league min, or go to a bad team.

Leafs have Wayne Simmonds on a deal that's slightly above league min. If they can navigate his stuff, Max Pac will get a shot if he chooses to take a shot.

Totally - i mean he came back early from a brutal injury, with most guys taking months to get back up to speed coming off an achilles tear, and scored 3 in 4 games with a boatload of shots (as usual), the guys a difference maker even at his age.

Pacioretty has a tough road ahead, is it worth it to do all of that rehab and to uproot your family and make maybe $1-2m? If he had a ring then I would say no. Because he doesnt, I say just maybe....

He most certainly wouldn't be doing it for the money. The guy is already set and was already wealthy from family. He'd do it because of his competitive streak and ESPECIALLY for a team like the Canes that affords him the opportunity to win the Cup. Not unlike Giordano taking that ridiculous sweetheart deal for the Leafs.
