Pastrnak for Shesterkin ?

Good morning,

League settings and roster in signature (keepers in bold). I'm considering trading my Pastrnak for Shesterkin so that I will have a bonafide keeper in net for years to come. I hate to give up Pasta but I suspect a possible regression with Bergeron and Marchand getting older. Thoughts?

I would roll those dice. Shesterkin is one of only a couple goalies that I have no concerns with going into the season. He will produce and his percentages will be great. Pasta is much easier to replace in an 8 team keep 6 when you see guys like tarasenko and stone being draftable just looking at your roster.

I'm doing this and not losing any sleep over it. Shesterkin has separated himself from the rest of the NHL goalies with the exception of Vasi whereas Pasta is just one of many elite forwards. No brainer IMO. Jump on this immediately if the opportunity truly exists.

If this has been offered to you, take the deal now. In an 8 team keep 6 goalies should be plenty available in the draft. However Shesterkin is a top tier goalie like Vasilevskiy. You can set them in your lineup and not worry.

If you’re thinking of offering Pastrnak for Shesterkin I’d be surprised if it’s accepted.

i like this deal too cause of caliber of Goalie that Igor is but i would not bank on Pasta regressing, i dont think that will happen. If anything i expect him to bounce back from the so so season last year.

I'd rather have Shestyorkin than Pastrnak. With today's Bergeron signing, it makes Pastrnak look that much better so strike while the iron is hot.

Yeah I'd do that. In a keep 6 it sounds crazy to keep a goalie, but Shesty is one of two goalies I would keep in that scenario. Pastrnak is much more replaceable.

My guess is this is a proposal you are thinking of offering and not a deal under discussion? Because I think that's an easy trade to make, if it's available.

This. There's a reason I targeted Shesterkin early in my league in sig. I've had so many issues in net over the years with bed crapping Penguins goalies like Fleury/Murray and other guys who weren't quite good enough to get me through the playoffs on a consistent basi like, say Holtby, Find your stud in net, then work with the rest.

I'd take the deal and run. I think you are right with Pasta. NYR are also set up to win. Better team, more wins, higher save %, lower GAA, etc.

I own Shesty and I wouldn’t trade him for Pasta or one-on-one for pretty much any forward in the league (except maybe McD )
