Off-season trades and keepers
So I'm having a very difficult time deciding on my 3 forward keepers and a goalie/d-man keeper. Guys like Miller and B. Tkachuk are gold in my league.
As of now my 4 are McDavid, Kuch, Tkachuk, Demko. I'm looking to maximize my assets and hate to lose JT Miller for nothing. I tried moving him for picks but teams are set with their keepers and would rather try to grab him in the redraft. My thought was to try and keep him by moving Kucherov for Fox and a 1st. Kucherov would become his best player. That would set me up nicely with 2 scoring bangers and the 4th/8th picks in the 1st round. Thoughts? If it takes more to get Fox and a 1st I'd have no issue tossing in a goalie.

According to the OP's signature, one keeper must be a D or G. But I do agree with the idea of not keeping a goalie.Originally Posted by metaldude26

In a 10 team league, there should be lots of goalies available at the draft, and with their volatility, there are very few who I would use a keep 4 spot on (Vas, Shest,... anyone else??? Unlikely). The extra 1st round pick in the trade can be used on a goalie, further making your "keepers" McDavid, B. Tkachuk, JT Miller, Fox, goalie (Demko, let's say). I prefer those five "keepers" to the four you currently have.

Correct, I would rather keep a d-man, especially one that puts up a ton of points. Good goalies can still be had as late as the 3rd round most years.

If you could move Kuch for Fox and a 1st, I would also do that deal. In general, I'm not sure I would keep Demko in a keep 4 format, so moving an F for a stud D or an upgraded G (Vas/Shesty) would make a lot of sense, if you can pull it off.
