Yea, that looks like a great pick tbh. I was hoping he would fall a few more spots..

I'm also the dingbat drafting Svechnikov every year in the belief he'll have that Connor breakout, while providing the multi-category stuff. One year I will eat my cake and have it too.

I don't have a lot of faith in Winnipeg right now. Don't think their culture is in a good spot right now. So slightly cautious on them.

Lol! For what it's worth, I have Connor and Svechnikov back to back in my rankings despite a big discrepancy in points. Which means if Svech finds that other gear offensively without losing his peripherals, he's top 10 in this type of league.

Indeed, feels very volatile. How many players still want to be there? What type of system is Bowness going to implement and will they buy in? Will Bowness continue to give their top guns the huge minutes or smooth things out?

Awe was hoping to get Stammer. Now I have to think :/

I decided not to think on it too hard... I'll get a few PIMS with my points.

Doh I forgot about Marchand's hip surgery announced so long ago. :/ That's not a good pick there. Oof

Lol, I had bookmarked Marchand for a later point in the draft as a possible steal pick. But who knows, maybe he returns a little early and at least gets 70 points for you.

And awesome pick with Meier. I was dreaming he'd fall back to me. I would've been ecstatic. In a cats league, there's no way he should've lasted this long.

Marchand has a good history of returning early from his injuries in the past, and taking his rehabs to the max. He’ll still put up numbers, maybe not quite what he’d do in 82 games

I debated Meier at my pick, but since I already have B. Tkachuk and E. Kane, I wanted to focus more on players that would net a lot of points (hence Gaudreau) to try and boost that category. But I actually wrote Meier's name down, switched to Gaudreau, went back to Meier before finally getting back to Gaudreau.

With such big rosters I don’t think the multicast guys are as valuable. Hits and possibly PIMs can be chased later for the Util positions. With G, A, Pts, PP, and even +\- (which I hate) the elite scoring guys are where the value is early in the draft. Meir was great last year but I worry about a repeat on that Sharks roster. He’s going to get tons of ice time - so that’s really good. But who knows? That’s why it’s fun.

The interesting thing with Marchand is that in most of my leagues he'll probably go higher than this. A lot more wiggle room for injured guys in H2H formats than a no-move roto. My question is how much higher would Marchand go in a H2H?

I like Meier, great option in this setup, but like others it makes sense to snipe some of the pure offense options while they are still available. Only so many guys have 100-point upside.

If Meier was a 50 point player, I'd agree with you guys, but he's a 70-point guy, same as Tkachuk or Svechnikov that were taken way earlier and will provide the same type of peripherals. I think it's a steal this late.

That being said, I agree with newf that with B. Tkachuk and E. Kane already on his roster, going Gaudreau over Meier makes sense.

Him being older now and it being both hips I don't see him coming back early... but that's just an uneducated guess.
For sure I think H2H he still holds a lot of value.
I think for this league I would of liked Guentzel instead.

It's also entirely possible whoever I picked (as there was a few others I was thinking of not just Guentzel) would just get injured mid season anyway.

Yeah, injuries will sink most of us in this type of league!
