Who knows if that report is true about MacK. Adrian Dater reported it, and he's been known to misreport or toss out some clickbait every now and again. It very well could be true, but MacKinnon's been on record saying he'll take a pay cut to stay in Denver and put a winning team together. Now, that was before he won the cup... after winning one maybe he has a different mindset.

i dont see mack's extension as an inhibitor at all. erik johnson's 6m will be off the books. mack's 6.3 + johnson's 6.0 = $12.3. mack will be worth it no matter what hes paid even if its 10m vs 13m aav.

Kadri is a bit trickier since it would directly force girard and/or compher to be moved and possibly complicate devon toews' extension in a few years. Depends if they feel Kadri is the difference between repeating and not.

Serevalli saying NYI have offered Kadri a 7yr, $7m aav deal. Kadri has been firm on his $9m aav asking price.

Just got off the phone with a guy that knows & I think that Nazem Kadri is done to @NYIslanders

They have to clear out some cap room & then it’ll be announced. I’m FAR from an Insider but I’m very confident that it’s done. Great signing by NYI & Nazem Kadri deserves every penny.

Lou needed to get offence. He was pretty much gifted Guadreau and Kadri and because he strapped them with bad deals and failed to act he missed on them.

I don't know why so many people think he's a top GM

my guess is Kadri and his agent heard back from Lou that the cost to move a player (likely Bailey)was too high .

considering calgary had to attach a 1st for 1 year of Monahan the price to move Bailey was likely similar .

Beauvillier is an inconsistent winger but giving him away for pennies so you'd have room for Kadri didnt make sense to me either .

in a way , I'm kind of relieved its over.

This guy is officially a dinosaur and ownership needs to realize players from other teams aren't interested in playing under his heirarchy.
