I can’t imagine owning Pietrangelo in a cap league. Isn’t he north of 8?

Agreed. I'll take 2 swings at a replacement with upside.

Also, what is a "mid year pick". I might be interested in that if I knew what it meant.

If this were a multicategory league, even with a salary cap, then I could understand rostering him at 8.8 M (wouldn't be a preference of mine, however). Given that this is points-only, I would prefer Tolvanen and Merkley.

I'm guessing a mid year pick is a pick from all unowned free agents in the middle of the season. If that's the case, that would definitely interest me. How deep do the useful players run in that draft normally?

So it'd be between Tolvanen, Sandin, Merkley, and the pick.

In a cap league AP is a tough sell, trust me, been there done that. If you can land a combination of any of the options you have listed your probably doing about as well as you can. Merkley and Tolvanen would be the two I'm most interested in. Sandin would be my next choice.

The mid year picks are usually for players with good year that were not drafted.

Since I like to gamble, the deal ended up being

    Duchene/Pietrangelo
    For
    Kadri/Sandin/Tolvanen

From what I read, it feels like Kadri is willing to take a lower salary to be on a contender team. Wasn’t sold on Duchene either.
