Yeah... I've read a lot of article that hockey people around the NHL see big things in Georgiev.
What COL will try to do is to lock him down at a nice low number that affords them cash flow for MacKinnon & support in future years.
The 32-year old Kuemper only has $18m in career earnings.

That's not a ton. Remember, this NHL income is their lifetime income.
Kuemper will be looking for a 4yr x $5m+ contract that secures him for life.
It's not something the Avs have available to give.
He'll be moving on.

Playing behind that Avalanche team, he's going to be stud. I dont think it's an overpayment for a guy coming into his prime years. He needs a new contract but he wont cost as much as Kuemper will want.Originally Posted by kovalchuk17

Yeah... that Avalanche defense... especially with the emerging Byram... is gonna be fun for a goalie to stand behind.

Nice move for the Avs. I don't see it as an overpayment either. They need value contracts and as mentioned, he'll be cheaper than Kuemper.

As a goalie I much prefer being on the shitty team facing lots of shots. So much more fun, but winning a championship more fun so I guess trade me at the deadline every year!
