Default Offer Sheet Candidates - Will we see 2+ this offseason? [Link to Travis Yost Article]

    Hey All,

Read this article by Travis Yost on TSN; https://www.tsn.ca/fiala-deal-leaves...tegy-1.1821277

He covers how LA is very susceptible to have multiple offer sheets against them due to their lack of cap space and many quality RFA's.

Being that Carolina broke the ice last season with Kotkaniemi, could we be looking at an offseason where there are 2+ offer sheets made?

    From the list in the Article;

There could be A LOT of players in that $2.1mm-$6.3mm range that the teams just can't hold onto.

From that list, I see Durzi being an offer sheet target for sure.
Carolina could have a hard time holding onto Necas as another target (Hello Montreal with the revenge offer sheet?).
Toronto is at risk of losing Sandin being they are so capped crunched.
    How does Vegas keep Hague?

With how rare an offer sheet is... could this be the season that the flood gates open? Who else could be an offer sheet candidate that I'm missing?

I predict we will see zero offer sheets.

Many teams in the past have been even more susceptible to the double offer sheet strategy and no team ever employs it, or even a single offer sheet, so I will firmly stay in the "believe it when I see it" camp on offer sheets until we see it.

I think you’re most likely to see a Dodo bird than an offer sheet. Maybe a Yeti too. But Stranger Things have happened.

Sheesh, you guys make it sound like the NHL old-boys club would actively avoid something exciting that the fans would love... wait, now that I say it out loud I see your point.

A lot more depends on how well liked and respected the GM is. Necas seems a likely candidate not only from Montreal because their GM did it to someone else last year. Montreal could offer sheet him but I think a lot more GMs would be willing to as well because he acted like a dick last summer. Rob Blake seems well liked and respected so it seems less likely to me that the Kings would be targeted. Not sure about Toronto. I think if there is one this year it’ll be Necas.

Nick Hague and Nick Roy- who doesn't want to see this done to Vegas? The double offer like with San Jose with Niemi and Hammer in 2010 would be great.
Andrew Mangiapane- especially if Calgary signs Johnny Hockey
Pool Party- Edmonton probably matches any contract that a team is willing to give.
Rasmus Sandin- Doubt Toronto matches a 4*4 and the compensation would only be a 2nd round pick. Low price for a possible top 4 dman.
Noah Dobson- The Isles likely match but you could mess with Lou.
