    Default Kucherov offer

I’m seriously debating moving Kucherov. The offer I received was:

Timo Meier (9.32 fpg - 717.4 FP) and Evan Bouchard (6.04 fpg - 489.6 FP)

    for

    Nikita kucherov (10 fpg - 469 FP) and K’Andre Miller (3.95 fpg - 323.8 FP)

The internal battle I struggle with relies solely on the fact that Kucherov makes hockey look easy. And that’s a tremendous understatement. Kucherov has led me to two finals appearances and a championship over the last five years or so. I’ve always been strong offensively in this league (signature) from a a great original draft and lots of trades. I failed to assemble an elite defensive core. Makar and Chychrun are my set in stone building blocks on the back end but then I have guys like Boqvist, Addison, Merkley, Miller, and Niemela in my farm. Letang is still elite but for how much longer? My other defensemen rely heavily on peripherals which is fine (hover around 4.5-5.5 fpg) but I’m lacking that star power. Everyone in my league is extremely stingy with defense because they get extra points. I know Timo is nowhere near Kuch but he’s very valuable in my format with his peripherals on top of his scoring so would that production with a breakout from Bouchard be enough to warrant giving away Kucherov? I may also be too high on Bouchard but everything I see from him just shows me he’s about to be a top fantasy option on defense. But also, more and more injuries keep happening for Kuch… is it scaring anyone else a bit more and more lately? He’s an otherworldly talent but I’m afraid he’s going to spend more time on my IR than on my active roster going forward. The other manager also has Barkov who he expressed he would move, but wouldn’t include Bouchard then. Do I talk myself off this ledge and keep on keeping on with Kuch or make a safe-ish bet?

I could also turn Kuch and Miller into Johnny Hockey and Moritz Seider.

Not sure why you want to move Kuch, maybe the injuries are a concern, I get that. However, I don't consider either of these offers nearly enough. If you removed K Miller from the first and second offers, well, it's a bit more palatable, but as is, it's a quick reject for me.

every now and then I get an offer for him. These two made me think. But I completely get anyone else who thinks I’d be nuts for trading him.

I don't think you're nuts for wanting to trade him, I do agree with Bubba though, this seems like a hard undersell. Kucherov could win the Hart any given year, you should be getting that kind of value. If you can't than the answer is don't trade him.

I would not do any of those deals. He is way better than anything coming back, at least for the next 2-3 years.

With your scoring cats I could see how Meier + Seider for Kuch could make sense. But I would not give Miller on top of that.

The first deal is a no. The second is a step up, but not enough to move the needle IMO. Keep Kucherov and look forward to more of what we saw from him in Q4, when he posted 37 points in 21 games once he got his timing back.
