And Brunette has been offered "a significant role" if he chooses to stay in Florida. He is also still under contract technically (according to Frank Seravalli), but the contract is likely his AC contract as he was signed as HC "till the end of the season" when he took over from Quennville.

Paul Maurice seems like a good dude so good for him. I am unsure if hes actually a top tier coach though given how Winnipeg was somewhat underwhelming for a number of years

Lets be honest, it's not like this was HIS team that was built to his standard. He took over an explosive team and kept it from going off the rails, and then the playoffs. Sure he did a good job with what was handed to him but he was handed a damn good team that most of us probably could have coached into the playoffs.Originally Posted by kovalchuk17

Kind of a bummer for Brunette, who did really well. I think he's going to get serious interest for a HC job soon. who knows, maybe a team starts seeing if he's interested. The Jets would be hilarious.

Is this Florida team not similar to the Jets? Lots of scoring, avg defence and goal tending that runs hot and cold? I dont see how this will go well for Maurice. They never should have fired Gallant, I think there`s a curse on them from that time.
