Default is the sportsnet app that bad ?

We cut the cord around a year ago and just stream a few pay apps and enjoy some free through our roku devices . I bought the nhl live app through rogers and really enjoyed it this season .

I received an email from nhl live that after the playoffs are done they wont be available in canada anymore . They pointed me towards the sportsnet now ''premium'' which will give me the same out of market games that nhl live would along with leafs games (because they would be my regional team)raptors , jays etc..etc..

I can deal with the change but on some other hockey mssg board sites the SN app gets a lot of bad reviews .I can handle a little buffering but getting kicked out and having to sign in again even just a few times a week would be annoying .

sn doesnt have an app for Roku yet either so I'd have to buy an amazon fire stick for 40-50 bucks and toggle between roku and firestick via 2 different hdmi ports.

let me know your experience with the SN app

I had also purchased the NhL app for my phone and was kicking myself for not springing the extra $50 for the SN premium so I could watch the NhL through the app on my smarttv. I ended up just mirroring my phone to my tv and it worked that way but figured I’d spring the extra for the SN premium next year. Guess I won’t be

As for SNNow app it work pretty good on my phone here in Saskatchewan.

I've used the app through my samsung smart tv for the past few weeks with out any issues .

watched the final 3 SCF games , watched bits and pieces of jays games and went into the 20'ish archived islander games to see if past games would playback well and they did .

I'm not here pumping up the sn app but just thought I'd share that it seems to be alright with my experience so far

I watched three games in the SC final with the SN app, after using the NHL app all season. I may not have watched enough games to give a valid assessment, but FWIW I preferred the NHL app. I use a Firestick and had no issues at all with the NHL app. With the SN app, however, I experienced a bit of buffering/lag time that was subtle yet perceptible to me. It isn't enough for me not to stop using the app for the NHL package (and quite frankly I don't have a choice anyway), but I hope the buffering/lag issues aren't there next season.

I use my parents cable login for the SN app. I think it's great for 'free'. I use it to cast via google chromecast and I don't know what happened but all my casting to the chromecast volume control doesn't work anymore, only complaint but it's happening with my disney+/Crave too.

But on the SN app it just lets me mute and unmute. Should allow me to control the volume a bit. Should allow 2 games to show at once. Things like that should be options. But for casting, 'free', 720p/1080p hockey I can't complain.

I had center ice through bell for 20+ years and they never had 2 feeds to the games so going back to that system wont be a big deal for me . I only found out by fluke that my samsung smart t.v can carry the app and that nhl live custumers could use their login to use as a login for SN until sept 5th

received an email from nhl live that the price for SN now premium will be 179$ next season as an incentive to sign up when the free preview ends

I believe its around 35 a month or 250 for the year otherwise
