i think that if he gets 7 its really going to be a problem cause not only will cap hit be high, he will be playing for crap team. No good team will give him that much..i think its between 5-6 mil imo...exactly where i dont know.
Any guesses for his next contract cap hit? I知 trying to get a trade sorted but I知 scared he値l sign for $7m+, which woild be problematic for my team. Is this at all possible or is that a foolish concern?
Thanks

somewhere between 5.75 and 6.25
maybe a flat 5.0 if he can get some term in exchange for lower aav
I definitely can see a team pay him 7m on a shorter term. The cap is going up a little bit and more teams will have more cap space to play with bad contracts expiring. After Geno, Bergeron, Kadri, Giroux (in which i dont think the first 2 are actually leaving their teams), hes the best centre available in my books and the only one under 30 years old in that group. he would fit like a glove on practically any team has a high-end 2C
One day I will quit fantasy hockey, today is not that day.
My guess is 5 years x 5.75.

This makes a lot of sense and there are GM's out there who may well pay that kind of money. I like Axe's comparison to Daneault, that's likely where Trocheck's value should be but there is every chance he gets more $$$ on the free agent market. I think 6 - 7 Mil is in the ballpark.

Tha ks guys. Ya I have a feeling that some desperate GM will pay him $1m too much and will make him a bit less valuable. At $5.7 he痴 good value in this league. At $7.1 he痴 definitely not.

Something that has to be considered as well is what Trocheck himself is considering. Not every player chases the money. He might be willing to take less money to stay in Carolina. We really don't know if he's even willing to walk away from the Hurricanes. Maybe he likes it there and is willing to take less than what he'd get on the open market. God knows Brind'Amour did.

Trocheck just made 6.25m in salary this yr which could influence his decision to take a pay cut to stay in Carolina if he likes it.
I'm guessing in that 4-5yr (he'll be 29 in July), and the 5-6mill. His AAV could dip with an extra 6th yr involved by a team who wants the cap hit lower and are willing to have him longer than they should.

The hit isn't too bad it's just a horrible term. Especially on a team who is already paying big, long term money to 4 or 5 guys.
He’ll have a good left winger for sure, and second power play time, possibly first. Unless Chytill forces himself up into the second line. But I could see him having a comparable year to Carolina. The guy swings wildly from season to season for his points per game, but I imagine a 50-65 point pace. With his peripherals, would you keep him over a Konecny girard or farabee in a cap league?

Great cap hit for fantasy purposes, the key will be showing chemistry with Panarin and a PP1 spot.
One day I will quit fantasy hockey, today is not that day.
I think it's a fair contract. He probably took a little less for the 7yr term. Like most long term contracts, this will be a good a deal for 75% of the term. It's pretty much what I expected for cap hit though.
