Not as exciting but much more effective.
Uh, did you watch the entirety of the videos?

I feel like I should add that theoretically unsound openings are actually more risky for less experienced players because without knowing the theory you're counting on your opponent following a very specific script. As soon as they deviate from that script you're in a dark woods with many paths that don't lead you anywhere but into more danger. So yes, risky gambits are an exciting way to get a cheap victory if your opponent has no idea what they're up against but they more often end up with you having no idea how you ended you ended up where you are from where you started.

If anyone is interested in learning, I have a chess.com account. I don't cheat and I'm happy to play at whatever pace is comfortable.

Best to always assume your opponent will make the most optimal play.

Bringing a missile in to clear the board does do a good job of removing your opponents pieces in one move...

I'm familiar with the openings, and top level play. No, I didn't watch these specific videos but yes, I am very familiar with the openings in question and their potential pit falls. If you would like to test my credibility I invite you to try.

I think his points were more directed to Daydream Nation and his comment, rather then the actual videos themselves.

Back when I played, both checkers and chess, it seemed like I was better at checkers, but I'm not sure if that is true...

I have feelings that people took checkers less serious and never put much effort into the strategies behind it...
Or maybe those that were serious just played chess? idk was just a teenager and never put thought into it.

Did you notice the rockets being launched at the boards in the videos? They were not serious chess opening videos...

Ok, that's fair. But how is the average player supposed to know that?

How is the average player supposed to know that using missles launched from a submarine is not a serious chess opening? Is this a serious question?
